There isn't a lot new going on. Well, last Friday, I "hung out" with Amy, Zack and Lee. We walked around the mall. It was fun. There were so many stores with so many things! (So many clothing stores!) I had gone to a mall with Amy once, when I was eleven, but there were different stores back then. There are more now. I learned that Lee is in a band. He's the lead guitarist. I had no idea he was musical. Amy wants to learn how to play the guitar too.
This weekend is that party. Amy bought me a dress. I felt kind of bad. I didn't even know it was for me, until later. Well then....
Tuesday, August 25
*sigh*
I don't understand why Amy thinks school is boring. History is very interesting! The president sounds a lot like my Elder... except we don't "vote" for him. The previous Elder chooses him. I guess it would be nice if we could choose our Elder. I had never really ever thought of that. See, school is interesting!
Oh, right. There is apparently a welcoming party of some sort next weekend. Amy keeps bothering me about it. I don't understand sometimes. She says it's boring, but that we have to go. (emphasis on the "have to"). I don't know. I don't have any clothes though, except for my uniform and some articles that aren't for wearing at a party. (Hey, I know what parties are! We have them too)

ahhh...
It's pretty quiet. I can access the cafeteria to make myself food. Cafeteria food isn't so bad as long as you spice it up a little bit. I also help the janitor by cleaning up over the weekend. He appreciates it.
I haven't really told anyone that I'm sleeping in the school. I just wonder, how long I'm actually going to be able to stay here.
oh well.

2nd day of school
This morning Lee met me at the entrance. It was so that I "wouldn't get lost" on the way to the new music room. It was different than the old one. No wallpaper,(the old one had this quaint lilac wallpaper) but it still had that cozy feeling. Zack was at the piano, his back turned to me. Amy was sitting on a chair and patted the seat of the one next to her, motioning for me to sit down.
"Close the door if you're going to stay... if you don't mind." Even though it sounded stern, I could see the smile on Zack's face.
"Zack has been dying to play the piano for you, Yellow!" exclaimed Amy.
I sat down next to her and enjoyed the soft classical music. He played a piece called Butterfly Etude by an ancient composer named Chopin. It was the same song I heard him play the first time I met him. It was a short piece, but happy. Zack's playing sounded the same as before, maybe better. However, he still had the ability to make you think that the piano was just an instrument. An instrument that simply projected the real melody that came from his very fingers. I mean, that's what musicians do, right? But... it always seems different with Zack.
We all "hung out" after school too. I felt sad when everyone had to leave. Even when Lee left I felt a slight tugging in my insides. He seems different. I don't really get him though.
Tomorrow there is no school. I didn't really understand why. Because I have no home, the principal let me stay in the school. It's unbelievable how nice he is to me. I feel kind of bad, because I have no way of repaying him. Not only is he letting me stay in the school, provided me with all my books and uniforms (second hand is better than nothing!), and is keeping the fact that there is a savage in his school a major secret... he is also paying for my tuition (his wife insisted). I mean, he doesn't have to. He and his wife originally offered for me to stay at his house, but I had to decline. They have done too much already. The school is better than the shelter I was staying at. At least here no one looks at me funny (because there is no one around.. heh.)
So far I have blended in quite well.

first day of school
Wow. It was unbelievable. In Amy's words "It was like a movie".
I didn't see anyone right off the bat. I walked into homeroom and sat in front, next to the door. I guess that's why no one noticed me, and why I didn't notice them. No no, it wasn't until English, which I had right after homeroom.
Ms. Betten was just going over assistance. She called out my name "Yellow?"
I raised my hand.
She looked at me. "Do you have a last name, Miss. Yellow?"
That's when I heard someone standing up abruptly. You know, how the chair kind of scrapes against the floor. That's when. Amy and Zack. They were both standing, their desks next to each other. (I even noticed Amy's childhood friend Lee sitting close to them). Amy looked like she was about to cry. I had to stand up too, it was practically automatic.
Ms. Betten, of course, had no idea what was going on. "Fisher! Preppar! Err... Yellow! Sit down. Miss. Yellow, what is your last name?"
Before I could even open my mouth, Amy responded. She sounded as if the wind had been knocked out of her, breathless and desperate for air. "She doesn't... have one." Then she smiled.
All we needed was that smile, to sit down again. Ms. Betten continued going over assistance.
So, all in all, I'm in a pretty fair amount of classes with Amy and Zack. Let's see according to my schedule.
English: Amy and Zack
Computer: Amy
Calculus II: Zack
Free Period: Amy and Zack
History: Zack
Lunch
Creative Writing: none
Biology: Zack
I mean, I'm in a couple of classes with Lee, too. We have free together, and he's in my English, computers, history, biology, and creative writing classes. I mean, I couldn't just ignore him. He was staring at me the whole day long. It's probably because, unlike everyone else, he remembers me and still hates me because I'm a savage. He hated me back then, he probably still does. It actually kind of bugs me that I have to take creative writing with him.
Well, Lee aside, it was good to be with Amy and Zack again. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to find that music room and listen to Zack play again. He told me he still does it, it's just in a different room now. I can't wait for tomorrow!

Sunday, August 9
It's going to start soon
I spoke with the principal. I'm so relieved that he remembered who I was. He told me it was fine. He gave me some old, used text books and a voucher for a uniform. The uniform looks nice. It's a white shirt, a light blue vest, and a plaid blue skirt. I have to admit, I kind of missed the jumper, but the skirt looks more mature.
He gave me a tour of the school, not that I forgot it. The classroom I used to go to in the mornings with Zack is now a classroom. I was... a little sad.
I wonder is Amy and Zack are even still in this school. That was something I should have asked the principal.
